Terms of service.
The short version — because a planning tool you can't trust to be straight with you isn't worth using.
Operator and billing contact
The service is operated by Sami Kabir, operating as DegreeLume. For billing questions, email sami@degreelume.com.
What this is
DegreeLume is a college-planning aid. It reads published degree, general-education, articulation, deadline, and scholarship information and turns your confirmed coursework into a planning view. It is not your college and it does not replace a human counselor.
Not official advice — decisions stay with the officials
Every requirement check cites its source and shows how fresh it is, but catalogs, agreements, deadlines, and admission policies change and can be misread. Confirm your plan with your college counselor and the official sources (including ASSIST.org for California transfer articulation) before acting on it. Degree and admission decisions stay with the colleges involved; nothing here is a promise of admission.
Your data, your account of it
The planner opens with a free account, keeps your plan on your device first, and syncs it through your account. Pasted transcript text and text-layer PDFs stay on your device; a photo or scanned PDF is sent to Claude through Amazon Bedrock (AWS) or Anthropic’s API only after you approve that exact file. DegreeLume does not store the original document. You can export or delete your device data on the privacy page. Your plan is only as accurate as the coursework you confirm.
Opportunity marketplace and Talent Pool
Student career details, GPA, grades, and skills are self-reported unless clearly labeled otherwise. Joining the Talent Pool is separate, optional, and available only to students who attest they are at least 18. Verified employers may use only student-approved fields and job-related criteria for a real opening. Employers may not scrape the pool, build outside profiles, resell data, seek protected characteristics, discriminate, or treat a DegreeLume filter as the final hiring decision. Students can leave the pool, decline invitations, revoke application access, or delete their account.
No warranty · fair use
The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind; to the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on it. Don't scrape, misrepresent, or resell the service or present its output as an official document. If something is wrong, use "Report a wrong answer" — reports are saved with your plan data and included in your export.
Paid plans and renewals
The core planner is free. The monthly plan costs $7.99 per month and automatically renews until you cancel. Stripe holds the payment method for recurring charges. The Transfer Window Pass costs $18.99 for 92 days, and the Year Pass costs $49.99 for 366 days. Each pass is a one-time purchase and does not renew. The first 100 paying accounts receive a lifetime 20% discount on paid plans. When paid access ends, your account returns to the free planner and your saved plans are retained.
Canceling monthly renewals
Cancel future monthly renewals through Manage billing before your next renewal. You do not need to request a refund or wait for a refund decision to cancel. One-time passes end after their stated access period and do not renew.
Refund-policy transition
The case-by-case refund policy below applies only to new purchases made after this refund-policy update is first published on the Pricing page. Purchases made before that publication retain the earlier 30-day full-refund promise: if it did not help, email sami@degreelume.com within 30 days of your purchase for a full refund. We also honor that promise whenever it was shown when you purchased, including older cached pages or purchase materials. Existing monthly subscriptions retain any refund promise made when you started them. This update does not reduce any other promise made to you at purchase.
Refund requests
Refund requests are reviewed case by case. Email sami@degreelume.com with your purchase details and the reason for your request. This policy does not limit rights required by applicable law. You can cancel future monthly renewals through Manage billing without waiting for a refund decision. Cancellation does not automatically refund past charges, and a refund does not itself cancel future renewals.
